"The most indispensable ingredient of all good home cooking is love for those you are cooking for."
~ Sophia Loren
Once a month cooking

I just wanted to write and tell you how much I love your cookbook! A friend introduced me to it about 5 years ago and I have been cooking 30 meals in one day ever since. Our family dinners are better and I feel great about providing nutritious, delicious meals in minutes. And I don’t have to plan ahead for dinner anymore. I used to go down to the freezer 5 minutes before my husband arrived home from work and stare at the frozen hamburger and chicken breasts in despair. Now I pull out a batch of corkscrew chicken (or whatever), pop it in a pot of hot water where it thaws very quickly, then heat and eat. Everyone thinks I worked all day on dinner!

I also do a cookie day, roll day, and pie day based on your concepts. I’ve also made “30 Meals in One Day believers” out of many of my friends. We all love your book! I’m excited about your new software and can’t wait to try it. Thanks so much for sharing this wonderful idea with all of us who are so busy, yet want to provide a great dinner for our families! Cook on!

The freezer recipes are better in this than any freezer friendly book I’ve seen. Few steps & great tasting! I’m so excited to be cooking great family meals & being able to spend more time with them & less time in the kitchen. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Thank you for writing this book. My sister and I have been using it for over a year and we are hooked. We get together and cook, it has been wonderful time spent. Thanks again for the book it has helped us a bunch!! I am really lost when I run out of freezer meals and have to wait for my sister to plan a cooking day.

Just wanted to let you know, I love the program. A friend came to my house last week and we put a total of 36 meals in the freezer. I feel like I’ve been set free. I can just look at the menu on the front of the refrigerator and choose a dinner item. We’re especially fond of Sloppy Guiseppes. Any chance you’ll be putting out any breakfast recipes? Thanks

I purchased the Dinner Is Ready book after Women’s Conference last year in Orem. I have been using it and LOVING it. Thanks so much for putting this together! It saves so much time and SANITY for me!!! Thanks.

I wanted the book for later this fall when I have my 4th baby. I know your book will be the difference for making my life easier with this next child. I have been so overwhelmed with life, taking care of my family, being a good mom, keeping a clean house and to top it all off I am trying to start a business of my own, all while I am pregnant! Crazy I know, but when I saw you on Good Things Utah I knew it was the answer to what I have been looking for. I can’t wait to get started. I love your suggestions for cooking tools and have had fun shopping for those as well.

I never know what side dishes to serve with dinner. This book (On the Side) has so many great recipes, I can serve new and exciting combinations every day!

I LOVE the Software! My daughter loves it, too. She says “it’s amazingly easy”. My daughter and I chose our menus, printed our shopping lists and labels last night! It was fun. You have done a great job putting things together. Thanks so much.

I’m a pharmacist that works 2 days a week with 4 year old, 2 year old, and 2 month old kids. When I work, I don’t get home until 7:30pm. My husband picks up the children and is home around 5:45pm. He is not a cook, and his cooking usually consists of macaroni and cheese. With my freezer meals, he can read the directions and have something fixed by the time I get home and it’s good food. When I was pregnant, I was extremely tired. I was a high risk pregnancy so I had to go to a lot of doctor’s appointments, work, get rest and take care of 2 kids. The meals were wonderful during this time. Usually I do the meals myself, but my mom helped me make them during my pregnancy. I probably have about 100 in my freezer right now, because I’m going back to work this week.

My daughter-in-law had broken her foot and was on crutches. She has a 2 year old and a few flights of stairs in her home. We decided to get together and cook up a bunch of freezer meals and try out your book! It saved her life! She would never have been able to cook during her recuperation time! We do plan to do it again! Thank you.

I’m happy to report that I completed my first cooking day! It was a rush!!! I did put two Spaghetti and Company’s away and I deliberately doubled the Cheesy Ham and Potatoes recipes because I loved it when we had it at Enrichment. So I put 17 meals in the freezer on Friday!! What a great day!!! I loved getting your software and was able to print out the shopping list, labels, and list for the freezer. I had already taken your recipes from the handout and had them laminated downtown. So I just used those and they worked great! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE SOFTWARE!!! I’ve already been talking it up. We had our first meal last night and it was wonderful! We had basketball games, gymnastics, Pilates and a Wal-Mart run. It sure did make life easier. It really is a rush!!

You are an awesome lady! I wish I could give you a hug!!!

A friend of mine and I came to one of your classes in Riverton last winter. I wanted to share a special experience we had tonight using your freezer meal plan. We have in our neighborhood a family whose 4-year-old son was recently diagnosed with leukemia as well as at least one other condition that I can’t remember. All I know is that they have several years of treatment plan ahead of them. The neighborhood has been good about bringing meals in as needed, but I knew we needed to do something different.

We have a monthly cooking class for make ahead meals. Another lady and I run that class. We spoke with the mother of this family and told her what we wanted to do. We also check for any food allergies and preferences. Then we found 12 of our favorite freezer meals. Then we compiled a list of ingredients and made a sign-up sheet. We had a total of 35 women donate the food and 12 came tonight to cook/assemble. In about 2 hours, we had prepared 30+ meals for this family. Since the mother will not be familiar with many of the recipes, we also made a master list of what meals she will have in her freezer with suggestions of how to use them and how much prep time they take. Tomorrow we will deliver them to this family.

While I have enjoyed putting your book to work for my own family, I’m so excited with how I could use it to bless the lives of others. I just wanted you to know that you’ve had an impact for good on our neighborhood family.

I am enjoying using your software. What a treasure it is!! I found out that my sister has your software as well. I have added recipes to mine and I would like to share those with her. She would like me to have her additional recipes too. Thanks for making such a great cooking too!!

This book has TOTALLY improved life for my family and me. I have created convenience for myself, provided delicious home cooked meals with improved variety and have saved time and money. It has changed my whole outlook on providing meals for loved ones. It has given me the freedom to bless others and has even decreased dinner clean-up time so I can spend more time with family, friends, and activities. I am no longer frazzled and famished trying to think what is for dinner or wishing we could eat something but don’t have the time! I cook and freeze meals that my family loves and I know what ingredients are in the meal. Thank you so much!

Dinner is Ready is simple to read, easy to follow and it really works! Not only does it save you time the rest of the month, cuts the guess work of what’s for dinner, it will help you save money at the grocery store. I was a big one on going to the grocery store every week. Get what I needed for the week to come and then some. I didn’t prepare very well before going so there was always something I needed to go back for and lo and behold they’d have a sale on something or I’d be craving something and I’d buy more than I needed. Using this book has helped me cut out completely the extras I don’t need and saved me trips back to the store. I actually find myself just getting bread, milk and eggs and high tailing it out of there. Since I have little kids I had alot of interruptions while I was cooking but when I was finished I stood back and looked at what I was able to accomplish…I had a month of dinners in my freezer and dinner prepared for that night. Plus all the recipes have been hits with my family.

Too cool!!!! My mom purchased this same book 2 weeks ago and this last weekend 4 of us made 90 dinners in 8 hours. (The husbands took care of the kids.) :) And we cooked all day and it was awesome!!! You feel sooo accomplished and I have 18 dinners in my freezer. We cooked for 5 families. It cost each of us $60.02 for 18 meals. You can’t beat that. My mom has 2 kitchens in her house, thus we were able to do quite a bit more. But I am going to agree with ZMom, it is so worth it!

A friend came into town last weekend and I was doing a cooking day on Saturday. I completed 34 meals while she visited another friend! She wanted to bring her kids with her and help, but I’m one of those that like to do it alone. They came to visit us on Sunday before heading back to Snowflake. I told her what I had done, showed her my freezers, and gifted her a book and the handouts. After showing her the CD on my computer, she bought her own. She went right home, made her menu and went shopping for 15 recipes. She called me from the store asking what else she might be forgetting (freezer foil, etc.) and headed home. The next day she was leaving for California for a few days with her oldest daughter to see Wicked, etc., leaving a husband and four kids at home. She said she felt so good being able to leave and know that her family would have all the meals they needed while she was gone. She was SOOO excited to learn about this.

I bought your books and software earlier in the month, but have already made 30+ recipes. You have given me tons of recipes that my family is rating on a scale of 1-5, they are so picky, but haven’t rated anything below 3. So amazing! I taught an OAMC class last weekend for one my church quarterly women’s meetings. You may have more customers as the recipe for Cream Cheese Chicken was one I used for my class example, it was a hit. I picked that one since you already have it on your website, available to the public. I have been OAMC for many years, and this has made it better. I especially love the labels, I hate dragging out my recipes for the final cooking instructions. However the grocery list might tie with the labels as that is really great as well. The only thing I am missing personally that would be great to have in your software is a calendar. I currently handwrite all the meals and accompaniments I have prepared on my calendar so that even the my 7 year old knows what we are having for dinner; that and my older children know what to pull out of the freezer the night before so that they can thaw and get dinner going without wondering what Mom has planned for tonight when I am running late. Not complaining though, I can settle for all the time I save right now as it is.

Keep up the hard work knowing you have at least one great fan.

Thanks so much for your book. What a wonderful gift. My dad was just discharged from the hospital after his 3rd heart surgery. My step mom has diabetes and has become very obese. She finally said yesterday, “I will just have to start cooking and stop eating out so often.” I think this is key for them, but they find it difficult to devote the energy to cook at home every night for just the 2 of them. I think it would really change their lives.

I just ordered two, one for me and one for my mother. I am excited! I am getting the book because I just got married and bought a house, and we both work full time. We both are always busy, so the idea of freezing just makes sense. I can’t wait to get it. Thanks again!

Your system works so well for me. I even send meals with my husband when he is out of town working. He works out of town 2 weeks and then is home two weeks. He has a house the company rents for him so he has a full kitchen. Yesterday he said he was out of freezer meals. I said I’ll just have to make some more then. He likes that because it makes it easy for just him. Once again, thanks so much!
